IronStone Releases New Flavor of Mead
IronStone Meadery released a new flavor of mead Saturday.
The cranberry-flavored mead named "What's in Your Head?" is inspired by the song Zombie by The Cranberries.
This release is its 12th flavor of mead, which is a honey-based, fermented drink made since before the Middle Ages.
The owners said making mead is their passion, and the best part of the meadery is the people who come in as customers and leave as something more.
"Everyone who comes in, we treat them like family," said Rich Koakol, co-owner of IronStone Meadery. "They end up leaving with not only a wealth of knowledge on mead but a place where they feel at home and welcomed."
IronStone Meadery opened in June in the back of the Greene Township Municipal Building on Tate Rd.
