The PSAC Baseball Tournament opened Wednesday at Point Stadium in Johnstown, Pa. Four matchups opened the tournament with two Erie teams in action.

Gannon vs East Stroudsburg:

Gannon opened Game Two of the tournament with a three-pack of solo home runs. Left fielder Dominic Mori hit just one home run in the regular, however, cleared the fences in his first two at-bats. Jared Beach added in his 14th home run of the year to put the Golden Knights up 3-0.

However, the Warriors scored four unanswered which included two home runs by East Stroudsburg's Joey Paolini.

Gannon entered the bottom of the ninth down just a run, but with the top of the order due up. Back-to-back doubles put Gannon within one. Then with two outs and the base-loaded, senior infielder Ian Steighner lined a single to right to complete a second-consecutive walk-off win for the Golden Knights with a 5-4 final.  Gannon will play West Chester on Thursday at 3:30 from Point Stadium

Mercyhurst vs. Bloomsburg

The issues for the Lakers began with the very first pitch when a fly ball to right field dropped in between the two Mercyhurst outfielders who failed to call for the ball. That was just the beginning of five-run first inning for Bloomsburg. The errors continued to pile up for the Lakers who finished with four in their opening game. Starting pitcher Christian Young lasted just one inning of work before giving way to the bullpen.

The offense did little to provide support to the pitching staff as Bloomsburg's Ashton Raines limited the Lakers to just two hits over 7 innings. Mercyhurst fell 12-0 in seven innings. The Lakers will play the winner of Millersville/Seton Hill at 12:30 pm on Thursday.
