Several corporations are teaming up to help area students taste-test healthy foods and learn about where the foods come from.

Klein Elementary School students in Harborcreek celebrated being a part of the Project Learning Garden and Sustainable Initiative.

The school won a contest sponsored by Giant Eagle, Dole Packaged Foods, and Captain Planet Foundation. It's provides a chance for them to learn nutrition, math, social studies and language arts altogether, in real-life applications.

Klein Elementary School Principal, Tyler Cook, says, "This is such a great opportunity for students to get outside and really learn about those connections because we learn about it we read about it in the textbooks, but to really apply that that knowledge and create opportunities and experience they wouldn't have otherwise."

Harborcreek Township Supervisor Tim May was there for the event at the school as the students celebrated their contest win.
