Ridge Wins Democratic and Republican Nominations in Judge Race
Longtime Erie trial attorney David Ridge is now virtually assured of becoming an Erie County Judge next January.
He won both democratic and republican nominations.
A large crowd of friends and supporters gathered at Ridge headquarters in downtown Erie.
They followed the returns all night long, with Ridge finally claiming victory around 10:30 p.m. last night.
He said his team was the key to victory, helping him get his message out, promising fair and impartial justice for the community.
He believes his door to door campaigning was critical to his win.
He said, "You've got to take the time. You've got to put forth the effort. But I think the people of Erie County kind of expect it. and i think they deserve it. I don't know how many people but it was a lot said to me, I will vote for you because you came here."
Despite winning both party nominations, Ridge says he will still campaign in the fall.
He says voters deserve to learn more about him before he is sworn in.
