Erie police investigators are on the scene of a double shooting incident in East Erie.

They responded about 8:07 p.m. after receiving a report that two men had been shot in the head at 922 Wallace Street.

Police and rescuers arrived to find two men, each suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, one was conscious the other was in traumatic arrest.

Both victims were taken to UPMC Hamot Trauma Center.

Police sources indicate that one victim has died of his wounds, the other is alive.

Detectives remain on the scene of the shooting.  Their probe is focused on the upstairs apartment of the home.

Witnesses at the scene say that one man shot the other then turned the gun on himself.

Police indicate that they are looking at the possibility that one of the victim's wounds was self inflicted.

The investigation is ongoing.
