Benefit Will Aid Recovery of Boy Who Lost Scalp in Dog Attack
A big benefit will help with medical and other expenses for the family of a little boy brutally attacked by a neighbor's dog.
Family and friends of 5-year-old Donny Gibbens organized the event at the EREPA Grotto Park on Edinboro Road with food, an auction, raffles a DJ and more.
Donny was able to be there. He lost 85% of his scalp when the dog attacked him.
The little boy has been through five surgeries at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh, and more are expected.
Funds raised will relieve some medical costs, cover travel expenses for family and help pay bills while the parents are away from work during this difficult time.
Donny and his family goes back to Pittsburgh June 26 and will find out what is next in his recovery process.
