The Week Ahead: Wet Start to the Week
Prepare for more showers and storms! This week is not looking like a washout, but we will have a chance for showers and storms for the first half of the week.
Monday will definitely be the best chance for thunderstorms across the region. Our next weather system will be approaching from the west on Monday, and ahead of the cold front, we'll have the best chance for a few thunderstorms Monday afternoon.
A few of those storms could be strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center has placed our area in an elevated risk for severe weather on Monday. Areas in the yellow have the best chance for seeing the strongest storms, which includes Crawford and Ashtabula counties. Erie and Warren counties still have a chance at seeing severe storms, but the best chance is in Crawford and Ashtabula counties. The highest risks with these storms will be heavy downpours, strong winds, and spotty hail. Remember, if severe weather strikes, we'll always keep you up-to-date on the latest here at First Warning Weather!
The cold front moves out of the area on Monday night, and Tuesday will be much nicer. There will still be a small chance of a few showers and storms on Tuesday and Wednesday, but right now, it's only about a 30% chance.
Temperatures will be warm throughout the week, but likely the warmest for the second half of the week! All of the red on the map below signals the likelihood of higher than normal temperatures. Expect high temperatures in the upper 70's and lower 80's throughout the week!
