This week will be feeling like summer!  Temperatures will remain consistent in the 80's all week, but we'll also have a chance of storms most days during the week.

A stationary surface front will move into the region on Tuesday, and won't really move out of the area until Friday or Saturday.  Think of a stationary front as an ignition switch.  As long as the front is near, there will always be a chance for storms to develop, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.

Unfortunately, this Thursday is Independence Day, and it looks like we'll be fighting the chance of showers and storms throughout the entire day.  We'll keep it at about a 40% chance of storms for now, but we'll keep an eye on things and adjust as we get closer.  Fingers are crossed that fireworks won't be impacted!

The good news is, right now, it looks like severe weather won't be much of a threat with this week's storm chances.  The Storm Prediction Center has placed us in a general thunderstorm risk throughout the week, which is a non-severe risk.  Things could change though, so stay tuned to the latest updates!

One thing is for sure... the sun will be strong, so make sure you don't forget sunscreen for this week's festivities. Also, drink plenty of water to avoid heat related illness!
