Investigators are searching for the cause of an early-morning vehicle fire that threatened to spread to a home on the city's east side.

It happened shortly before 2:30 a.m. Friday at a home along East 12th St., in between Reed and Wayne.

A car in a backyard caught fire.

The car sustained heavy damage, and the fire melted some of the siding on the back of the house.

No one was hurt.

The investigation into the cause of that car fire continues.
