Canadian Parks Police say a man plunged into Niagara Falls and miraculously survived with non life-threatening injuries Tuesday morning.

Police describe the man as "in-crisis" when he climbed the retaining wall of Horseshoe Falls.

Officers said the man then jumped and was swept over the falls.

Rescuers spotted him sitting on rocks at the edge of the water and transported him to the hospital.

Police gave no further details about his identity due to privacy laws.

The man joins a small number of people who are known to have survived the plunge.

59 years ago Tuesday, Roger Woodward, 7, went over the falls wearing a life-jacket and survived.
