A one-of-a-kind production is taking over the Erie Insurance Arena starting Wednesday night.

Cirque du Soleil will present Crystal, the first acrobatic performance on ice at the arena.

The show combines circus arts and ice skating on a frozen playground where figure skating is combined with acrobatics and aerial feats.

Officials tell Erie News Now there are more than 2,000 costume pieces throughout the show.

Organizers said this one has a little something for all ages.

"It is very different," said Frederique Morin, publicist for Cirque du Soleil Crystal. "It's something that people have never seen before - crazy jumps, colors, projections on the ice, beautiful costumes and music that's so original but also pop songs that you will recognize. I think it is very different. I think their is a little bit of everything for everybody."

Tickets are still available for all shows.
