Local boaters and marina owners are continuing to cope with the record high level of Lake Erie. But it has been a challenge.

At Gem City Marina, just west of State Street, operators have installed ramps to help boaters stay dry and get on and off their boats.

The same sort of thing is happening at other marinas.

So far it is working, but the worry is that the situation will get worse if the water level continues to rise.

Lakeshore Towing President Eric Guerrein said, "Everybody has sort of learned how to deal with it this year. but we hope it does not continue to rise because if it does, there will be more serious issues."

Many boaters at marinas and launches have been wearing high boots to get on or off their boats.
