Riverside Brewing Company Ready to Open in Cambridge Springs
The wait is finally over in Cambridge Springs. The new Riverside Brewing Company is set to open at a location where many fond memories were made in the past.
The Riverside Brewing Company was built on the land formerly occupied by the Riverside Inn. The Riverside Inn was destroyed by fire in May 2017. It was a beloved meeting place for the people of Cambridge Springs and beyond. The new business is making sure people will not forget that old hotel.
The Riverside Brewing Company has a 14 and a half barrel brewing system to make craft beer on the premises. It has a wood burning pizza oven behind the bar. There’s two indoor fireplaces, one in each dining room. Owners Jason and Deanna Howles also operate a maple syrup business. Maple will be incorporated in the beer and the food, even the pizza crust.
The new business is designed to be Cambridge Springs’ new gathering place. The old community gathering place is not forgotten. The authentic roadside signs for the Riverside Inn hang on the walls. There's even a mural of the old landmark in the ladies restroom.
Riverside Brewing’s general manager, Jeremy Ball, used to be the general manager at the Riverside Inn.
"But as much as they could do to give that feel of the old Riverside within the new building, they honored it tremendously with all the details and pictures and murals. The energy is still here. We're just in a new chapter and a new beginning,” he said.
The staff held a soft opening with a limited menu last weekend for training purposes. They will build on that menu this weekend as Riverside Brewing Company will open from 8am to midnight on Saturday and 8am to 8pm on Sunday. The full menu will be introduced next week.
Later this summer, there will be an outdoor fireplace and a 30 foot outdoor bar with the same view of French Creek that people enjoyed from the porch of the Riverside Inn.
