Presque Isle State Park has seen a lot of flooding this season but officials tell Erie News Now that it's only parts of the park that have been affected since the peninsula is over 3,200 acres.

With Discover Presque Isle this weekend organizers say they only had to make a few adjustments for this weekend because two years ago they moved the event out to beach 11 which hasn't seen the side affects from the flooding.

Discover Presque Isle is a annual three-day celebration starting this Friday, July 26th to bring awareness to the diverse natural ecosystems throughout the park, all the recreational opportunities the park has, and to educate visitors on the importance of preserving the natural environment.

The event is Presque Isle Partnerships largest annual fundraiser with buttons being sold for $5 this weekend to help raise the money.

Beach 11 will have something going on for everyone to enjoy. Arts & craft show, food vendors, and family-friendly activities.

Officials say live music will be on the beach as well as a sand sculpture competitions and a giant bonfire.

Over the past 5 years more than 100,000 people have attended Discover Presque Isle.

Visitors also have the opportunity to enjoy a tour of the lighthouse and free boat tours of the lagoons.

Discover Presque Isle begins Friday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and continues Saturday and Sunday.
