Three of the five children who lost their lives in Sunday morning's fire at an Erie daycare were the kids of a local volunteer firefighter.

As the fire broke out, Luther Jones was responding to another call in the city just blocks away with Lawrence Park Fire Department.

LPFD was asked to assist in handling other calls while the Erie Fire Department battled the fire on West 11th Street.

To help Jones and his family cover funeral costs, LPFD is setting up a bank account with Northwest to collect donations.

Details on how to donate will be released Monday after the account is set up by the department.
