Erie News Now has learned the Erie daycare where a fire claimed the lives of five children was considering a move to a local church.

Elaine Harris, who operated Harris Family Daycare from the W. 11 St. home, was well-known at her church, St. James AME.

The pastor said she sometimes brought daycare children to worship.

As police and fire crews investigate the fatal fire, the church pastor and family were saddened and said they wished conversations about moving the daycare to the church had gone farther.
