Humane Officers Look to Identify Kids who Threw Kitten into Lake Erie
Humane Officers are looking for the three young boys who threw a kitten into Lake Erie Friday, according to the Erie Humane Society.
Three young boys, possibly between the ages of 9-12 years, were seen at the East Avenue Boat Ramp at the foot of East Ave. with the kitten around 8 p.m., Humane Officers said.
One boy was holding an approximate 4-month-old, female, tortoiseshell kitten and threw it into the water, according to investigators.
The kitten swam to shore, and a witness was able to safely secure the kitten.
One of the boys reportedly said the kitten was his and had scratched him.
The boys were not accompanied by an adult and left on foot.
Anyone with information is asked to Erie Humane Society's Animal Cruelty Department at 814-835-8360.
