Autopsy Reveals Crawford County Mom, Son Both Shot In Head
We are learning more about what is now being called a double-homicide from over the weekend in Crawford County.
Crawford County Coroner Scott Schell tells Erie News Now that Shannon Whitman, 49 and her son Darrin Whitman, age 10, each died of a single gunshot to the head.
The two were found shot, inside their home along Route 198 in Randolph Township.
Pennsylvania State Police say Jack Elijah Turner, 21, is wanted for the crimes, and for the theft of Whitman's car.
Investigators say Turner is described as a white male who is 5' 11" and 145 pounds with dark brown hair, brown eyes and a tattoo covering his right hand. He has trimmed eyebrows and frequently wears what appear to be diamond stud earrings in both ears.
Turner should be considered armed and dangerous, according to State Police. He is a person of interest in the homicide investigation and wanted for questioning.
In Erie County, Millcreek Police released pictures taken from a video camera during an armed robbery on Monday morning at the Kwik-Fill on West 38th Street and Sterrettania Road.
The pictures show a person that fits turner's description and a vehicle that police say is the car taken from the crime scene.
Turner is accused of stealing Whitman's gray/silver, 2009 Lincoln MKS sedan with Pennsylvania plate KXW5126
So far, no word from police on the motive behind the Crawford County crimes. Meanwhile, Turner has been active on social media, with facebook posts, as the search for him, continues.
