A Cambridge Springs man had died after he was hit by a utility pole that was brought down when a tractor trailer hit wires in Crawford County Sunday, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

It happened at the intersection of State Highway 98 and Center Rd. in Cussewago Township around 6:50 p.m.

The victim - Aaron Schultz, 47 - stopped his vehicle on Center Rd. and was outside his vehicle checking on the driver of a separate crash at the time, according to troopers.

A semi hauling a livestock trailer approached the area and hit low-hanging wires with the top driver's side corner of the trailer, State Police said. It caused the utility pole on the northeast corner of the intersection to break, which hit Schultz and the driver of the first crash.

Schultz suffered fatal injuries while the driver involved in the first crash sustained a minor leg injury, troopers said.

The driver of the semi - Thomas Decker, 49, of Mayville, NY - was not injured, and the semi's trailer experienced only minor damage.
