The Spencer House Bed & Breakfast has been welcoming guests since 1991, with new owners taking over the historic West 6th Street property about a year ago.

Steve and Lisa Freysz love serving their guests, but they also love preserving a home built in 1876.

Steve said, "We feel that is an important part of what we are here to do. Not just to serve the guests but also to maintain this beautiful piece of history."

The history is everywhere you look in the house, from antiques to or original woodwork, hand carved in the 1870's.

Guest Ed Seman said, "Everything now is machinery. But this was all done by hand. It is amazing."

Guests love the home cooked breakfasts too.

The guests come from all over.

Steve said, "We get guests from all over the United States and even the world. We have had guests from Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom."

Many find the Spencer House through searching the web, looking at reviews on Trip Advisor,  or hearing from friends.

Still others are repeat customers, returning to enjoy staying in one of the six bedrooms surrounded by history.
