LECOM Signs Deal for Naming Rights of Buffalo's HarborCenter
The leaders of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine are bringing the LECOM name to Buffalo.
LECOM has signed a 10-year deal for the naming rights to HarborCenter, the hockey rinks and hotel complex in downtown Buffalo.
There is no word on the dollar value of the agreement for what will now be called LECOM HarborCenter.
LECOM's logo is already on the ice on a rink at the complex. More signs will be installed inside and outside the facility.
Buffalo Sabres co-owner Kim Pegula and LECOM president Dr. John Ferretti are set to formally unveil HarborCenter's new name and announce a major community initiative later this month.
School leaders said the deal gives the college a chance to increase its visibility roughly 100 miles from its home base in Erie.
