Sheriff's Office Identifies Driver Killed in Chautauqua County Crash
The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office has identified the commercial vehicle driver killed in a crash involving a pickup truck in Chautauqua County Wednesday morning.
The crash claimed the life of James A. Ellis, 63, of Jamestown, NY.
Deputies were called to the accident on Route 394 in the Town of North Harmony at 10:21 a.m. Wednesday.
The driver of a pickup truck on Magnolia Stedman Rd. failed to stop at the stop sign and hit a commercial vehicle on Route 394, according to investigators. The crash caused the commercial vehicle to roll over.
The driver of the pickup truck was taken to Westfield Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries. Ellis, who was behind the wheel of the commercial vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
This is the second fatal crash reported in Chautauqua County on Wednesday. A 66-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 86.
