The second annual Flagship City Book Festival kicked off Friday in downtown Erie.

Bookstores, community organizations and more than a dozen authors are participating.

The book festival is being hosted by the Erie Downtown Development Corporation in the 400 block of State St.

It will feature talks and author book signings, as well as performances from local music and theater groups.

The festival runs until 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
