Friday is the deadline for members of the Erie Downtown Partnership to complete a survey about the Roar on the Shore.

The rally was not held in downtown Erie this past summer for the first time in 13 years. It moved to Lake Erie Speedway in North East after the City of Erie refused to cover the costs of police security and other services.

There has been talk about moving the rally back downtown. The motorcycle rally brought thousands of visitors to the city, but some business owners said it negatively affects their profits.

Erie Downtown Partnership sent a 20-question survey to more than 300 businesses and property owners downtown asking the under what conditions they would favor the rally returning.

The results of the survey will be shared with Mayor Joe Schember next week.
