Joe Morris, chairman of the department of political science at Mercyhurst told us what he expects to see as the election goes on.

Morris says-- in his opinion-- last night was the most substantive debate we have had so far. As we get further into the election we will see the number of democratic candidates dwindle in the coming debates. Joe anticipates seeing some rough and attacking politics.

He says something that really separated Thursday night’s election from other elections was when Beto O'Rourke gave his stance on gun control.

"We're going to take your AR-15, your AK-47, we're not going to allow it to be used against our Americans anymore."

Joe said, "This is the first time a democrat in this race has had such a clear and aggressive position on gun control and I think in all likely hood that's probably going to boost him quite a bit in the polls among democrats."
