The case against the man charged with homicide in the death of a woman in Venango County in July is moving forward.

Clayton Hindman, 48, of Polk, was held for trial on five charges during a preliminary hearing Friday afternoon.

Hindman is also charged with aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

It comes after State Police investigators found a decomposed body believed to be Salina Chilson, 38, inside the living room of Hindman's Hillcrest Ave. home in Polk on July 25.

At the request of a family member, they had gone to the address to check on the welfare of Hindman, but he was not found there.

Hindman turned himself in to the county sheriff in Ava, Missouri a few days later.

Chilson was reported missing by friends. They said she disappeared July 3 after telling them she was walking to Emlenton, Pa. to meet someone who was going to take her for a motorcycle ride.
