Tonight's storm was so powerful that it took ripped down a tree, that crashed right into an Erie family's home. The incident took place on the 800 block of E 24th street.

Residents heard a loud boom, that did not sound like the usual roar of thunder; a tree from their backyard was knocked over and fell onto the side backdoor.

Due to the tree's massive size, the homeowners had to dismantle parts of the branches so that there was  minimal damage to their house. However, it was a different story for the yard which is covered with broken branches and tree limbs.

The clean up will not be easy, but fortunately no one was injured.
