High School Students Build, Donate Dog Houses to Erie Humane Society
The Erie Humane Society is receiving custom-built dog houses for its shelter animals designed and constructed by Erie High School students.
Juniors and seniors in Mike Trippe’s shop class at the school will present the dog houses to the shelter Tuesday.
Students collaborated to create the blueprints and build the dog houses. The Humane Society said the students combined durability with creativity in the designs. They feature front porches, asymmetrical roofs and decks perfect for sunbathing.
The dog houses will go home with select shelter dogs, so they have a special place of their own to enjoy in their forever homes, according to the Humane Society.
