Deadly Shooting In A Quiet Town Leaves Residents In Shock
Sherman residents are in shock after a man was shot and killed in their normally “quiet” hometown; the close-knit community is known to have minimal crime.
Around 1:30 am on Sunday, officers responded to a shooting in Chautauqua County that left one man dead. The incident happened on 114 W. Main Street in Sherman, N.Y.
According to investigators, 29-year-old Justin Gibbons of Mayville of N.Y., was found at the location with multiple gunshot wounds. Gibbons was taken to Westfield Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old old Julio Montanez, of Jamestown N.Y. Montanez is charged with first degree manslaughter, and is pending arraignment in Chautauqua County Jail.
