Sunday marked the annual Parish Day at St. Stanislaus Church in Erie.

Everyone gathered at the parish hall on E. 13th St. for a Polish platter dinner. We're talking kielbasa, golabki, pierogi and more.

The food is fitting for the parish's Polish history, but this is about more than food. The chief of the kitchen said it's about bringing people together to support the work of the parish.

"It's nice to see the people, the old people, the new people, people that come around just for this event," said chef Becky Sienkiewicz. "It's great to visit with all of them. We've had a wonderful support of the parish. This is our major fundraiser; this is what helps us keep going."

They had raffles and auction baskets, as well as a grand prize of $1,500 to give away.
