State Rep. Lee James (R-Venango/Butler) will host a concealed carry seminar this month in Oil City to provide gun owners information on how to be responsible with their Second Amendment rights, according to a news release.

It will be hosted Thursday, Oct. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Oil City VFW, 2 Relief St.

Sheriff Eric Foy and District Attorney Shawn White will explain what to do when you have a concealed weapon and are stopped by police and what the Castle Doctrine means for you when protecting your property. They will also review the process of how to apply for a concealed carry permit.

There is not charge for the seminar, but space is limited.

Anyone interested in attending is asked to reserve a spot by calling Rep. James' district office at 814-677-6413 or going online to RepJames.com.
