Veterans from the past and present were honored Saturday night at the Erie Veterans Memorial Stadium. The stadium’s renovations are finally complete and to keep tradition going, the venue was rededicated to servicemen and women starting with the war world i heroes.

Erie Veteran’s Memorial Stadium is also home to students dating back to 95 years. The Erie High Royal’s football team played their first game tonight breaking in the new turf.

In addition, the new renovations included repairs to the stadium’s concrete steps, a new roof, and freshly painted stadium walls. The repairs are part of the $80.8 million building reconstruction project that the Erie School District launched this summer.
