MammoMarathon: Making Mammograms "Fun"
UPMC Hamot is hosting it's 13th annual MammoMarathon at it's Breast Imaging Center on Peach Street.
The event is aimed at giving women an incentive to get their yearly screenings for breast cancer. It includes free snacks, raffle baskets, a photo booth and chick flicks.
The center opened an hour early for the event and will be staying open late until 8 p.m. Friday evening. All the appointments are booked, but walk-ins are encouraged as long as the patient is due for a mammogram and knows the name of their OB/GYN or family doctor.
It's recommended women over the age of 40 get yearly mammograms.
