Vendor Fest Raises Awareness of Puppy Mills
People in Erie did some holiday shopping this morning while raising money to stop puppy mills.
Puppy Mill Awareness -- a local charity -- hosted its Vendor Fest, bringing in more than 60 local vendors, selling arts, crafts and other homemade goods.
More than 100 people came to the event at the SAGA Club on Washington Avenue.
The group plans to use the money it makes to support legislation called Victoria's Law which would make puppy mills illegal.
"We need people to call their senators and representative to let them know to support the law, sign it, you know. Let's get these puppy mills shut down," said Sherry Beliveau.
The group wants to put up billboards supporting the anti-puppy-mill law.
