Workers spent the morning repairing the turf at Erie Veterans Memorial Stadium, less than a month after the newly renovated stadium opened.

An Erie School District official says the repairs were minor, and crews were simply doing touch-up work, re-gluing a couple seams and cutting turf away from a grate. One issue still remains as of Wednesday afternoon. Coaches boxes are supposed to be marked with a line that players must stay behind. That line wasn't painted on the original turf, and it's currently marked with duct tape.

School officials say that problem will soon be fixed, and won't affect any scheduled games, including McDowell's game there Friday night.

The repairs also won't affect the district's finances. The touch-up costs were written into the contract with the turf company.
