Longtime Shriners Patient Wins Overnight Stay to Splash Lagoon
A seven-year-old girl is the latest recipient of a get-away trip right in Erie. She's headed to Splash Lagoon with her family.
"Emily" has been a patient of Shriners Hospital in Erie, since she was born.
Each quarter, the hospital partners with Scott Enterprises, the owner of Splash Lagoon.
It is through the Fin's Friend program. A Shriners patient is chosen to receive an overnight stay at the water park.
Scott Enterprises Owner, Nick Scott, says, "We like to do this, because we like to give back to the community when we can, and we know it will bring some joy to these kids. They always have a smile on their face when they're at Splash Lagoon."
Emily, who loves horseback riding, wheelchair basketball and just joined the Shriners hockey team tells Erie News Now that the award is "pretty cool!"
