Five time Grammy award winning bassist Edgar Meyer performed with the Erie Philharmonic orchestra Saturday evening, before a near sold-out crowd at the Warner Theatre.

A composer as well as performer, Meyer performed his own Concerto for Double Bass with Daniel Meyer and the Erie Philharmonic.

The creative piece crosses musical genres, and demonstrated Edgar Meyer's musical virtuosity and versatility on the bass.  The audience rose for a standing ovation.

Meyer also performed the Bottesini's Concerto for Double Bass.

The orchestra then went on to thrill the audience with a performance of the Pines of Rome by Ottorino Respighi.

Coming up next in the orchestra's Pops Series, two performances of Come Home for the Holidays on December 7 - at 2:30 and 8:00 p.m.
