The NFL has announced the 25 modern-era semifinalists for the 2020 Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The Steelers have three players making the latest cut with Troy Polamalu, Alan Faneca and Hines Ward each in consideration.

Special teams ace and former Bill Steve Tasker joins the list along with former Browns linebacker Clay Matthews.

The list was trimmed down from 122 nominees.

Polamalu is among six other first-year eligible players to make the cut.

This will be the fourth time Hines Ward is a semifinalist. Faneca has been a semifinalist for the past five years.

Matthews makes the semifinals cut for the second consecutive season and fourth time since 2012.

This list will be shortened once again to 15 finalists on January 2, 2020.
