The giant dryer creeping its way across our region broke down Saturday evening near Riceville, Crawford County.

Part of PA Route 77 between Riceville Rd and Centerville road as crews work to repair the truck.

PennDOT says a detour will be posted using PA Route 8 and PA Route 408, while the load is being worked on. PennDOT said repairs should be made fairly quickly

As Erie News Now originally reported, the Yankee Dryer is traveling from Erie to Lock Haven, PA. The so-called "super load" left Erie Thursday and is expected to arrive Dec. 13.

Because of the massive size of the dryer, the super load is moving at speeds lower than 15 mph.

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported the truck was stalled Sunday, when it stalled Saturday.
