As rain and wind continue to sweep western Pennsylvania, townships are trying to get ahead of the weather.

Crews spent Friday cleaning out ditches, trying to make sure water could flow freely without backup up onto property.

Harborcreek Township Supervisor Tim May says the lack of snow makes the storm slightly easier to manage.

"We don't have a significant snow pack right now," he said. "We don't have to worry about the ice damming up the catch basins and such. We're kind of fortunate to have this weather before the storm comes."
