Truckers Against Trafficking and TravelCenters of America Help Fight Human Trafficking
Truck drivers and a travel center operator in the area are teaming up to fight human trafficking.
TravelCenters of America, right off I-90, is selling select items to benefit Truckers Against Trafficking. The group has partnered with TravelCenters of America since 2011, to help bring an end to the crime. Since then, TA employees have also received mandatory human trafficking awareness training.
"We're really so proud that all of our employees are required to get trained, what to watch out for, how to react,” Tina Arundel, a Spokesperson with TravelCenters of America, said. “They know that really just one phone call for help can make a difference."
The items for sale include beanies, air fresheners, chargers, and more. One dollar from every item purchased will go to help Truckers Against Trafficking continue their fight.
