Meadville Police K9, Handler to Receive Trauma Kit from Organization
Meadville City Police Department's K9 Feri will receive a backpack-style trauma kit from an organization that is working to reduce the number of K9-related deaths throughout the country.
The kit contains first aid and trauma supplies, including Narcan to block the effects of opioids and reverse overdoses, for both the K9 and handler. K9s are also vulnerable to drugs during searches.
It was made possible by donations to Protecting K9 Heroes and sponsored by Marcel and Jill Paillard, of Pennsylvania.
K9 Feri, a 2-year-old German Shepherd, is assigned to Officer Provost.
We're told he loves playing ball and riding around in his cruiser but dislikes going to the vet.
