The Pennsylvania Game Commission is expected to consider three Sunday hunting dates during its meeting Jan. 25 in Harrisburg.

Sunday hunting for deer is proposed for Nov. 15, 2020, during the statewide archery season and for Nov. 29, 2020 during the statewide firearms season.

The third Sunday hunting date would fall during the statewide firearms portion of black bear season on Nov. 22, 2020.

The legislation permitting hunting on three Sundays - one during rifle deer season, one during the statewide archery deer season and one on a Sunday determined by the Game Commission - was signed into law by Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf in mid-December.

State Sen. Dan Laughlin, who represents the Erie area, co-sponsored the legislation.

For the second year in a row, the rifle deer season would start on a Saturday, Nov. 28, if approved by the Game Commission.
