A judge has arraigned the man who police said shot a woman in the face twice and left her on the lawn of an east Erie home Tuesday night.

The shooting happened around 7 p.m. in the 300 block of Reed St.

Police arrived to find a 39-year-old woman lying in the yard.

She named a suspect and was taken to UPMC Hamot for surgery. At last check, she remains under intensive care.

Police tracked down Larry Sledge, 39, and brought him in for questioning.

He was eventually arrested and charged with attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, firearms not to be carried without a license, possession of a firearm prohibited, possession of a weapon and recklessly endangering another person.

Sledge was placed behind bars in the Erie County Prison on $250,000 bond.

There is no word on a possible motive or the relationship between the two.
