Child Development Centers (CDC) has hired former Millcreek school superintendent Bill Hall to lead its Erie County operations.

He joins the early childhood education and child care organization following its recent expansion into Erie County where it serves 760 preschool-age children through the Head Start program.

In a statement, CDC Executive Director Rina Irwin said Hall’s background in teaching and public-school administration will benefit the agency.

“This is a great opportunity for CDC, and we are thrilled to add Bill to our leadership team,” said Irwin. “His educational acumen will be a vital asset to us continuing to find new, effective ways of serving the children of the region.”

During much of his three and a half decades in public education, Hall has spent time working directly with at-risk children.

“I learned so much and most importantly, that it starts with the relationship,” said Hall. “It ends with the relationship as well. If you love those kids, and they know it, you lead them to greater achievements. This is my passion.”

Hall just retired earlier this month from his position as superintendent of the Millcreek Township School District. He had been superintendent since January 2013.

He started his career in education as a teacher for Riverview Intermediate Unit 6 and Grove City Area School District. Hall also has experience working as a principal in Oil City School District.
