Elspeth Mizner always knew she wanted to be a news reporter and was thrilled to be given the opportunity to join Erie News Now in December of 2019, the station she has watched her whole life.

Born and raised in Erie, Elspeth graduated with Honors from Saint Vincent College in three and a half years, training camp of the Pittsburgh Steelers and home of the Fred Rogers Center, with a degree in communication and a minor in Creative Writing. While at Saint Vincent, Elspeth continued her involvement with various charities, which she began as a Mercyhurst Prep student. Elspeth has been recognized for her leadership and charitable work with various scholarships and awards and continues her involvement with Erie’s nonprofit community.

Elspeth has three siblings and dozens of cousins and spending time with family and friends is a top priority for Elspeth when she is not covering the stories so important to Erie families. She enjoys the arts and culture, spending time at the Peninsula and is always in the middle of a great book.

As an avid consumer of the news since her childhood, Elspeth knows how many people in our regional community rely on Erie News Now to cover the news first and without bias, and that is exactly what Elspeth intends to do every day as an Erie News Now reporter.

If you have a story idea, let Elspeth know by email or on social media.
