THE CANCELATION OF THE ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE MEANT STATE STREET WAS A LITTLE SLOWER Saturday, BUT THAT DIDN'T STOP people FROM GOING OUT TO CELEBRATE THE HOLIDAY weekend IN SOME FORM.

Many DECIDED TO WALK DOWN STATE ST. TO MOLLY BRANNINGAN'S TO ENJOYS SOME OF THE FESTIVITIES, FOOD, AND LIVE MUSIC AVAILABLE. THE PUB, WHICH IS A HOTSPOT ON ST. PATRICK'S DAY, SAYS THEY DID EVERYTHING IN THEIR POWER TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE WHO COME TO CELEBRATE ALSO STAY SAFE.

"We've taken all precautions from the CDC to keep things as sanitized and as clean as possible for our guests to enjoy a good time today," co-owner Greg Brown said. "Obviously, we would love to see the parade going but we completely understand with what's going on around us."

The parade was canceled to coincide with Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf's request to cancel events with 250 or more people. Though, even without the larger crowds, Dr. Becky Dawson from Allegheny College says there are still more steps people could take.

"You need to create that space," Dawson said. "We also need to get away from surface areas where people may have sneezed or wiped their cough, or runny nose and put it on the table for us to pick up."
