AAA Auto Insurance to Provide Financial Relief to Policyholders
American Automobile Association (AAA) Auto Insurance policyholders will be receiving financial relief due to the COVID-19 pandemic within the next few weeks.
Members of AAA who insure their vehicles through the Interinsurance Exchange of the Automobile Club and its affiliate insurers (Auto Club Enterprises Insurance Group) will receive premium refunds totaling approximately $125 million.
Each policyholder with auto insurance will receive a 20 percent policy refund for the period from March 16, 2020 to May 15, 2020. Refund checks will be mailed by the end of May. Members do not need to take any action to receive their refund.
Reduced driving and claims due to extensive stay-at-home and shelter-in-place orders led AAA officials to provide the relief package to its policyholders.
AAA East Central is also providing free roadside assistance services to medical personnel and frontline first responders. Medical personnel and first responders who need a service during this time can call 800-400-4222.
The organization also announced a $1 million donation to United Way's COVID-19 relief efforts.
Auto Club Enterprises Insurance Group provides insurance for over 3.5 million vehicles through AAA clubs in 21 states including Pennsylvania.
