PA Releases Guidance for People Experiencing Homelessness During COVID-19
New regulations have been set by the Wolf Administration regarding homelessness in the state of Pennsylvania during the coronavirus.
The Department of Human Services is first activating the Sheltering Taskforce, which will focus on providing services to people who cannot self-isolate.
Currently, they are coordinating potential shelter sites for quarantine.
In addition, the PA Supreme Court has temporarily stopped eviction and foreclosure proceedings during COVID-19.
Rental assistance is also available through the Housing Assistance Program. Immediate needs and future demand are both available under the HAP.
The Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has plans to issue multiple Emergency Solution Grants.
Funding for these grants is provided by the federal stimulus package and will allow for violence support providers to work against the virus without worrying about the cost.
Finally, late fee waivers are available for homeowners with a PHFA mortgage and those with financial hardship.
