EE Austin has been handling major construction projects in our region for more than 100 years.

The company was not able to fully open until last week because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Its the focus of the latest edition of our special report, "Reopening Erie."

One project that was shut down during the closing was a multi-million dollar face lift of UPMC Park in downtown Erie.

Workers are back now.

But everyone is screen before entering the job site.

Masks are mandatory.

Social distancing is stressed.

And cleaning and sanitizing has been increased

Its the "new normal."

With changes to the safety rules that have been in place for many years.

EE Austin Manager Pete Austin said, "We see this as another layer  of regulations for COVID to make sure our workers are safe on their jobs."

Some of the existing safety rules include wearing hard hats and eye protection.
